AESOP is the Association of European Schools of Planning. This year, AESOP held its annual congress at METU (Middle East Technology University) in Ankara, Turkey. This is a very big event, with more than 700 presenters and key-note speakers, divided into several tracks. Ana Maria Fernandez-Maldonado, Akkelie van Nes, Alex Wandl, Hebe and Roberto Rocco, all members of the chair, presented papers in various subjects related to spatial planning and planning education.

METU has the first planned and design university campus of the Middle East, a large extent of forested area in the South East of Ankara. The conference was organized by AESOP and METU with outstanding results.

Alex Wandl participated in the AESOP Young Academics PhD workshop in Smyr, on the Southeast coast of Turkey.
